I grew up watching hockey, and going to the rink with my family any chance we could. Hockey, has always been a source of inspiration for me, from a very young age. And in the last couple of years, that inspiration has spurred me into action to use the tools I have to share that passion. As a fan of the PWHL, I use my skills to provide content for other fans, and to hone my own skills.
The league provides a fountain of energy and chances to make pieces that capture even a fraction of the joy that can be seen in the arenas where these teams play. I hope only to continue to do this, for as long as I am able.
The biggest challenges around making graphics like this, come down to limited resources. I use these challenges as a chance to flex some problem solving skills. The biggest, and most difficult problem to overcome, is in asset management. As I'm not attached to the league, I've had to make the photos from social media work, and most of which are not high quality. This means cut outs, and editing, and lighting are all much more difficult. But tough problems require creative solutions.
